PRC facilitates partnerships between owners and operators of broadcasting assets by negotiating and drafting operating agreements.
When a broadcast owner, such as an educational institution, decides to restructure the operations of a public radio station, while continuing to retain ownership, PRC provides representation. For example, PRC represented a local community group, Radio for Milwaukee, in drafting, negotiating and reaching an agreement to operate a public radio station owned by the Milwaukee School District. Under this agreement, the program services of the station will be strengthened for a new generation of public radio listeners.
PRC may also act as an intermediary and acquire a station when a public broadcaster is in a good position to operate but not own a station. For example, in 2005 PRC purchased a commercial radio station that will serve Tulsa, Okla., and be operated by KOSU, Oklahoma State University's public radio station.
